Pre-Production: Episode 1

Hello. I hope you enjoy my poor attempt at a title but here goes.

The first few posts on this blog will be based around pre-production and the hard work creating an idea for it. Today, we started pre-production on our new film entitled "It" (This name is subject to change, but Jade likes it so... I guess I have to roll with it...). for HL Film. We need to make a:

6-7 minute Film

40-60 second trailer

1750-word commentary

100-word rationale for film 100-word rationale for trailer

That is quite a lot of stuff and it amounts to 50% of our final IB Film grade... scary. This is quite a big deal for both of us (obviously because of University, but even more for Jade because she is planning on taking Film for university and having a career around it too... so her life sort of hangs in the balance). Anyways, we have started to develop our main film idea. Originally the idea for her film appeared to be a bit sketchy, but it's getting better. I am still unsure on the story, though... so we need to clear that up. So yeah... We have realized that both our final films have similar director and film influences, for example, Wes Anderson, Quentin Tarantino, and the Grand Budapest hotel. It's just that we both completely decided to draw on different concepts and ideas from the films, but I guess I'll get used to it. I have film homework from Jade, however (sad face). I need to watch "Fantastic Mr. Fox" and "Raise the Red Lantern".
