I have watched both of the films that Jade has asked me to watch and today we completed our film pitch. I think this idea is starting to grow on me. The main idea of the film is going do be a dramatized documentary on a girl's life following her breakup with her boyfriend and her many conflicting thoughts and ideas. We decided to take notes on the conventions of documentary and we think that this idea is certainly achievable. However, a problem that I have noticed is that the Film needs to have a strong dialogue as most of it will be archive shots to keep the audience interested and to further drive the story (there will obviously be "Action" shots, just not as many). We have also started thinking of different shot types and scenes to be placed into our film too.
Apart from the film pitch, I have also done further research into different films that have amazing dialogue that help propel the story. I have also decided to include a realist film into the mix as our film has those traits. Examples of the films that I will be watching are: - Joel Coen's "The Big Lebowski"
- Roberto Rossellini's "Rome, Open City"
- David Fincher's "Fight Club"
- Francis Ford Coppola's "The Godfather"
- Armando Iannucci's "In the Loop"
